Low internet speeds?

The first thing that goes through our minds as the source of the problem, is (and it make sense...) our provider.

So we inform our provider about our problem, and they send us a technician. Then the provider informs us, after checking the line, if it is their responsibility to fix it, or that our indoor  installation has a problem.

Here we will mention some of the possible causes of low speed, which in many cases we may even have internet disconnections !!!

One of the most important possible problem,  is the old electrical installations. Wires that are aged, dry, where with minimal deformation the external insulation is crushed and the oxidation of copper begins.

Inappropriate cable joints, which oxidize over time.

Improper cables, for example indoor cables installed outdoors.

Even using cables from different pairs !!!

Also a very important reason is the routing of telephone cables, at a very short distance from the cables with strong currents in the house, such as power outlets.

Filters, splitters that may be forgotten somewhere, create problems.

And remember that finding electrical faults is a rather painful process, which requires patience, and composure, both from the electrician and from the homeowner... !!!
